Our Story

I have been through multiple layoffs over a long tech career. Every time, I went through it alone. It was humiliating and bewildering. Then something different happened. After the most recent layoff, a group of coworkers set up a Discord channel and started inviting people to join together. We debriefed, vented, shared tips and resources. For the first time, I was laid off into a community. It was a completely different experience.

That experience made me realize something. I had also tried career coaches, AI tools, and support groups. Each helped, but each felt limited on its own. Coaches are expensive and time-limited. AI tools are fast but impersonal. Support groups provide empathy but lack direction. I wanted to combine the best of all three into one platform.

Existing solutions either group strangers together or assume the job market will cooperate. JobSearchTeams is built around people who already know and care about you. Your friends, mentors, and colleagues become your career team - with structured workflows, AI-powered tools, and clear roles that make their support genuinely useful.

Meet the Founder

Nathan has spent decades in the tech industry, experiencing firsthand the cycles of growth, disruption, and layoffs that define modern careers. After multiple career transitions - some chosen, some forced - he saw the same pattern: talented people struggling in isolation when they could be helping each other.

When thinking about how to solve this, he considered building an AI panel of career agents. But it felt dead and empty. The whole point was the human connection. So he built a platform that uses AI to make human teams more effective - handling logistics and drafting so people can focus on what they do best: listening, connecting, and showing up for each other.

Before founding JobSearchTeams, Nathan worked at multiple growth-stage tech companies and experienced both sides of the hiring process. He brings a practitioner's perspective to career support - not theory, but hard-won experience from years of navigating an unpredictable industry.

I believe AI works best when it facilitates, rather than erases, human connection. That conviction is at the core of everything we build.
