Twenty people told you to let them know if you need anything. They meant it. They are also waiting for you to tell them what to do, and you have no idea what to ask for. JobSearchTeams turns those people into an actual team with a night, a plan, and a job each.
Does this sound like your week
They all said it. Every one of them meant it. Then nothing happened, because they were waiting for a specific ask and you did not have one, and now too much time has passed to go back and ask.
No reply, no reason, no clue whether the problem is the resume, the role, or the seventeen other people who applied. You cannot fix what nobody will name.
Same boards, same applications, same silence. You are the only person tracking any of it, and you are far too tired to notice you have been going in a circle. You have started to wonder if the problem is you.
"Change is hard because people wear themselves out. What looks like laziness is often exhaustion." Chip Heath, Switch
What almost nobody gets
I got that once. Not because I planned it, but because somebody on my last team happened to set up a Discord channel and started pulling people in. We debriefed, we vented, we passed around leads. After a long career of going through layoffs alone, it was a completely different experience, and the only reason I got it was luck.
The willing people already exist in your life. What has never existed is the container. Nobody has ever handed your friends a role, a night, and a task list, so their goodwill just sits there and slowly turns into an awkward silence.
Three people, one hour a week, each with an actual job to do. You do not have to be lucky to get that anymore. You just have to ask.
people have now been out of work for 27 weeks or longer, and they make up 27.3% of everyone unemployed. The long search is normal. It is not a verdict on you. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Employment Situation, June 2026.
Invite two or three advisors and a coach. Each one gets tasks that fit what they are good for. The vague offer of help becomes an introduction with a date on it.
Post the draft and your advisors leave real feedback that ends in a call: ready to send, minor tweaks, or major revision. Somebody who hires people tells you the truth.
A phase plan that moves, a standing meeting, and a check-in where you can say the week went badly. Somebody other than you is watching the shape of your search.
"Trapped in our tradition of rugged individualism, we are an extraordinary lonely people." M. Scott Peck, The Different Drum
I built this after my own layoffs, and after a support group I volunteered to lead fell apart because none of us knew what we were doing. I am not going to tell you it is finished, because it is not. It is early, you would be one of the first people using it, and if something is broken I would rather you tell me than walk away without saying so.

Set up your team, invite the people who already offered, and give them something real to do. By next Tuesday you will not be doing this by yourself.
